RIVER RUN PRESS RELEASE

The River Run is an interactive, stimulating and fun Exhibition that links Children, Music and Regeneration, through participation in the Visual Arts. This visually stunning show features large canvases that will be emerging as the exhibition progresses, and displays of cutting edge community arts and design projects.

The Preview Night is Friday 17th September, 6-9pm.

River Run includes a series of large paintings by Mark O’Rourke, Nick Creber and Frank Creber, who work together at the Bromley-by-Bow Centre, they are running interactive art workshops over the Open House weekend, and your contribution will be part of the Exhibition and backdrop for “Orchestra in a Weekend

The Exhibition is open Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th October 11.00am-5.00pm, come and join in, and find out more about how families have been engaging with the exciting changes happening in the East End.

Check out “Signs of life”, a youth art project that paints murals, see the Concert Backdrop by local school children, learn about how the community respond to their estate being demolished with Hackney Utopians, and how artist Ann-Marie Fairbrother transformed disused Greenhouses at Springfield Park, discover some of the latest designs being created by Leaside Regeneration Ltd.

Displays also include; Artist Laura Williams who presents the Aluna Clock and Joao Wrobel who brought artists of the Favela community of Rio de Janeiro to re-create their neighbourhood as a sculpture of bricks. There will be drawings and photos of the creation of the Water City Orchestra by Caroline Holden-Hotopf and Theo Creber.
